The UGA Department of Dance and the Office of Multicultural Services and Programs presents UBUNTU (I Am What I Am Because of Who We All Are) celebrating Black History through Performance. The concert will be held on Friday, February 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 26 at 2:30 p.m. in the New Dance Theatre at the Dance Building, off Sanford Drive between Green and Soule streets.  Admission is free and open to the public, however, seating will be limited and there will be no entry after maximum capacity has been reached.  Students should show their I.D. for scanning at the door.  A live stream will also be available on the UGA Dance Livestream page at showtime.

UBUNTU, directed by Jason Aryeh, is a Performance Concert Celebrating Black History and Humanity through the heroic souls that have fought before us from the transatlantic slave trade to the plantation fields, through to segregation, into lynching, unto the fights for identity and equal rights.  A celebration to remember the African and the African American into a hopeful journey, holding on to the power of one, knowing well who we are, where we are from and where we are going.

The Department of Dance would like to acknowledge and thank the many supporters of this performance.  Primary Support:  Multicultural Services and Programs, a Division of Student Affairs.  Additional support:  Willson Center for Humanities and Arts, Latin American and Caribbean Studies Institute, African Studies Institute, Institute for African American Studies, Office of Institutional Diversity, The Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and Department of Dance.
