DANCE MAJOR AUDITIONS FOR ENTRANCE IN 2026-27 WILL BE HELD FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2025 AND FRIDAY, JANUARY 30, 2026. A virtual audition for those unable to travel will be planned for FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 2026. Learn more about the application and admission process Audition Information Technique and Solo Performance: Auditions will include group participation in a full technique class beginning at 9:45 a.m. followed by individual interviews and solo performance. The technique class will include Ballet (not en pointe), Contemporary Modern, Jazz, Improv and West African dance. The solo may or may not be choreographed by the auditioning dancer and should be from one to two minutes in length. Please bring any music you may be using for your solo in one of the following formats: (A) Smart Phone: you will be plugging into a standard audio cable so bring the appropriate adapter that works for your phone (we also have a Bluetooth connected speaker). (B) You may directly access Spotify or other online music services via our studio desktop computer. (C) On a CD or USB flash drive. NOTE: Virtual auditionees will meet with faculty individually over zoom at a scheduled interview time on Friday, February 13, 2026 beginning at 12:30. The interview schedule will be sent to you by Wednesday, February 11th. Recommended Audition Attire: Please select solid color dance and/or athletic wear that clearly shows body alignment. For safety and comfort moving in a variety of dance genres, please wear bottoms that extend below the knee and tops that cover the midriff.
