Dance Minor

View Program Requirements

The minor in dance consists of eighteen hours of DANC coursework, nine hours of which must be in 3000-level or above.  Of the eighteen-hour total, a minimum of six hours must be selected from Category I and a minimum of six hours must be selected from Category II.  DANC 2000 Production Assignment I and a minimum of six credit hours of dance technique are also required.  All work must be graded C (2.0) or better.  No proficiency credit or credit transferred from another institution may be applied toward the Dance minor.  While an audition is not required to declare a Dance minor, students must first enroll in any courses listed in Category I or II and contact the department to add the minor.  A placement audition is still required for some technique classes before enrolling.  Again, coursework must be spread between Category I and Category II, as noted in the requirements. Please see the Dance Minor Auditions page for more information.
